A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I embarked on editing the most extensive deep dive into why the Jedi are evil, a 1-hour-and-10-minute YouTube video that unravels their darker deeds through a compelling case study. Working closely with the creator, I took on the roles of editor, music and sound editor, and motion graphics designer, crafting an immersive experience that relies entirely on Star Wars film and show footage, with no traditional A-roll or talking head. Over 90% of the video is composed of carefully curated clips, seamlessly blended with my custom motion graphics, including intricate 3D elements, to visually narrate the Jedi’s moral complexities. The challenge was to maintain viewer engagement across such a long runtime, which I achieved by balancing dynamic editing, atmospheric sound design, and striking motion graphics that brought the argument to life. The result is a cinematic journey that challenges perceptions of the Jedi, captivating Star Wars fans with a fresh, thought-provoking perspective.
